Mission & Vision

G.D.O.H.W.A, as an organization for addressing the rights of PWDs was established 28 years back with a mission to empower the socio-economically and politically weaker and oppressed mass especially the physically/ mentally challenged persons of the society through undertaking participatory action research development programme & build a balanced and equitable society free from social exploitation.

The vision of the organisation is to establish an equal, self-sustained and developed economy by empowering the oppressed and depressed people especially the women and children giving priority to physically/mentally challenge through prudential planning & practical implementation.

Although the organisation is involved in a wide range of activities, the primary stake holders of the organisation are Physically/Mentally Challenged persons. Bringing comprehensive devt. of the PWDs is one of the primary objectives of GDOHWA.

The organisation had started its work in the year 1986 in undivided Ganjam District of Orissa which still remains the operational region of the organisation. But it was registered in the year 1989 under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860.
